Outfit: How do you do, Mustard Cardigan?

"It would be mortifying to the feelings of many ladies, could they be made to understand how little the heart of man is affected by what is costly or new in their attire."
-Jane Austen, Northanger Abbey (1817)
While this doesn't apply to everyone, it sure does to mine. I could care less for costly, extravagant things. I could say it was either ingrained in me as a child or I'm just cheap by nature, but I really can't allow myself to pay more than $50 at most for a piece of clothing. Unless it was something I absolutely could not live without. And I can live perfectly fine without most - although that ugly thing called greed might eat away at my heart for a couple of seconds. But I'll live. Now back on topic.

I could have a dress (like the one I'm wearing) or some heels/sandals I haven't worn in a while and suddenly pull out of the dark recesses of my closet, and it'll be like brand new to his eyes. "Is that new?" he'll ask. And I'll say, "Nope. You just never noticed." Which goes to show, most guys don't pay attention to what girls wear. They'll think it's pretty or what not, but when it comes down to the nitty gritty, the details become a mushy blur. A dress is just a dress. Simply an article of clothing that covers the body. They're all the same. However, just show John a car and he'll know everything about it right down to whether those mufflers came stock or not. Or how many horse powers it's got. And for me, well, they're all just cars. Hah!

P.S. I had forgotten all about you, Mustard Cardigan.
