Travel: Nature Seeking in Uptown

So much has happened to me in the past week that I'm finding it difficult settle down. But first, let me begin by saying that I had a wonderful time in Texas (I will talk more of Kansas in later posts). We stayed with my cousin and her husband in Uptown, which was a beautiful part of the city. I absolutely love the architecture. Lots of brick and stone walls and unique looking eateries. My cousin took us around to Klyde Warren Park, which was built above a freeway. I thought that was pretty neat. It was about a 10 minute walk from her apartment. I, myself, don't really consider it a park. It's certainly beautiful with a lovely landscape, but I'm used to the ones with tons of trees and fields of grass that look more "natural".

You won't often see pictures of my family, or other people, because my blog is mainly for me to post pictures of what I'm wearing. However, I do like to post about where I've traveled and what I've done so it really can't be helped! I sadly admit that I packed my suitcase rather poorly. I was repeatedly told about how cold the weather was going to be, and lo and behold, the sun shone brilliantly and glaringly down on us during our entire stay. Anyhow, I was super excited that we got to ride the trolley back!

  1. Very cool! A park above a freeway? How fun! Love the trolley too! I'm actually going to be in Dallas next week! I'll have to check these spots out! Any other recommendations you might have for the area? I'm not entirely sure what I all want to see while I'm there just yet. :)

    1. Hi, Lindsey!

If you like burgers, Hopdoddy Burger Bar is a great place. I didn't get to try it, but my cousin said it was really good. I highly recommend the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. It's got several floors and has numerous interactive features that make it really fun.

I didn't stay very long in Dallas and I only stayed in Uptown for the most part, which seems to be known for it's night life. Lots of bars and eateries that open late at night. I wish I got to explore more of it.
