Outfit: Star Speckled in Wintry Velvet

When I think of the holidays coming up, I immediately think of lush velvet dresses or skirts. I scored this beauty at my local thrift store a couple of years ago. It's the most beautiful velvet, wintry green skirt I've ever laid eyes on. Oh, a most beloved treasure. And it was only about $6! It was in lovely condition - barely worn at all. Those front pockets are real and it's got two tiny slits at back of the skirt, which I thought were quite charming. I've worn it every holiday season since I've had it and I love it more and more each time. The blazer I wore with the outfit was also purchased at the same time for $4, which I thought was a rather amazing. I adore anything with elbow patches. It's supposed to be a little boy's tweed blazer but I think it fit me pretty well. You can be the judge of that...!

Do you remember me saying that I don't often splurge, but when I do, it's only when I've thought it through for quite some time. Well, this Family Affairs blouse was one of those splurges. I bought it many years ago when it went on sale, but even then it was still a whole lot more than I'd normally pay for a blouse. Everything about it was screaming at me to buy it: the adorable star speckled print, the large peter pan collar, and dramatic sleeves.

What I wore:
Blouse: Family Affairs
Skirt: vintage thrifted
Blazer: thrifted
Heels: La Redoute

  1. Zoey, I love that blouse! It was a splurge well-spent, I'd say. This whole outfit looks amazing on you and, yes, rather festive! You look super adorable too, especially in the fourth photo from the bottom ;)

    Alive as Always

  2. Everything about this outfit I love love love!
The blouse is beautiful - I love the collar and print. And that skirt is so lovely. I have a thing for velvet.
    You look absolutely lovely!
    Much love,
