Really, the view is great. Another long overdue post of an outfit I wore last week. It was supposed to have been posted much earlier but I had come down with an illness of some sort that kept me from coming to work and left with a nasty cough the next day. Strep throat, maybe? My sister, Naomi, said several people at her work place were infected with it. I can only assume with absolute certainty that someone at work passed it onto me. I found out from a coworker that he recently got sick being surrounded by people who had been sick for over a month. Sure spreads like wildfire. I'm not one to get sick very often though. Once or twice a year and that's it. Thank goodness. But when I do, it takes me out like no other!

 When I see white and red together, I think of those sweet, round peppermints most restaurants often leave on the counter in a tray for guests to take as they leave. Or those nice white cars with the red interiors. Well, that's what I thought when I wore this outfit. The white dress needed a splash of color (and a run through a steamer, but let's not think about that). And of course, leaving my lips bare was unforgivable.

 I feared for dear life as I made my way down to the little bridge. I can be quite clumsy and these flats are definitely not made for trekking across unstable rocks. Any moment now and I would slip and fall and crack my head on one of them! Yikes! Needless to say, the journey was slow and meticulous. Every step calculated to ensure 100% safety! I actually really enjoy jumping from rock to rock though - only when I'm wearing the right shoes. Like when I go hiking. You'll see me leaping fearlessly.

 After the ordeal, we enjoyed the sun with our cute companion of a sunflower. Just kidding. It was hot as hell. I'm only pretending in these photos because no one likes to look at red, sweaty faced people sizzling under the heat of a thousand suns. The gaze of eyes scrutinizing perfection in every body and soul.

John doesn't buy me flowers very often. And I don't expect him to either. Not even on Valentine's Day, but sometimes he likes to surprise me! I found these on my doorstep as I stepped out to get into his car. He knows well that I'd rather have just one sunflower or daisy than an enormous bouquet of roses. These were lovely though! It came with a cute stuffed bunny, which I forgot to take a photo of. While admiring the flowers, a curious little bee came by for a long (and much undesired) visit...!

 In the midst of California winter, the temperature reached a peak of 90 degrees this past weekend. Unfortunately, I was forced to peel off all my layers and don a thin shift dress to accommodate the extremely warm weather. My heart cried as I slipped my feet into sandals - socks and boots no longer acceptable. Oh, Summer, I'm not ready for you yet...!

 Our trip to Seattle would not be complete without a visit to the infamous troll under the bridge. I apologize in advance if I don't look super excited to be there. I hate to admit it but I've gotta have that first sip of coffee to wake me up in the mornings! We had decided to visit the troll before walking down the steep hill to the coffee shop around the corner. And you can probably tell I was not quite awake and lively.

This outfit post is long overdue, but let's put that behind us now. Fuchsia is not a color I thought I would ever wear in my lifetime. I thought it suited paler skin so prettily and would never work on me. However, since donning this loud, bright color in the midst of winter, I think it looks just fine on my darker, golden skin. In fact, I wouldn't mind adding more articles of clothing in this vivid hue to my wardrobe. This wool-blend skirt is from JOA, a branch of the women's clothing company I work for. I purchased it during the winter sample sale at work back in November. From the corner of my eye, I saw it staring vivdly back at me. It was the last one on the rack and before I knew it, I had it in my possession. It did take me a while to gather the courage to wear it though. It's quite tight and formfitting, but I love the way it looks. And it makes me happy wearing it!
